1927, new york, sunday morning, 7:22am. Charles Lindbergh kissed his mother goodbye and with the most important journey of his life. This brave colonel was attempting to cross the atlantic ocean without stopping from new york to paris, france. Although no one trused him because at that time, it seemed to be an unrealistic goal. But still, thousands of people gathered to witness the event. Lindbergh was confident, he knew that he could do it, and he was sure that he can rely to his airplane, spirit of st. louis. his ariplane has no radio or even a gauge for gas tanks. Could he make it? well, ofcourse he did! 33 and a half hours later, Lindbergh reached paris after a 4000-mile flight. He became the first man to successfully cross the atlantic in a commercial flight without stopping for refueling.
How is this possible? Upon making his arrival in USA, Lindbergh ran into a man who silently watched over the entire operation and securely making that success possible. With tears in his eyes, Lindbergh jumped into his arms and said "Thank you Lester, I could'nt have done it without you!".
Lester Hendershot was a backyard inventor that Lindbergh trusted and respected more than anybody else. And as you discover, He was the brain behind the scenes. It was a huge success for the united states and for Lindbergh. But the event had a dirty little secret from the very start of the mission. Televisions and newspaper had no idea what was really going on to the spirit of st. louis and why Lester Hendershot was the key in the entire operation.

At first site, everything is normal with Lindbergh's plane engine. But inside the hidden compartment, they put Hendershot's secret invention. A Generator that could run without fuel for thousands of hours and give an additional amount of energy that Lindbergh's ariplane would need to cross the 4000 miles of the atlantic without stopping. They wanted to keep it a secret, But somehow, a technician who helped them with the project leaked some information to the local newspaper but the the publisher could'nt believe it either.Hendershot's invention is a
phenomenal Generator that could produce endless amount of energy, feeding itself from the earth's magnetic core.
Lester Hendershot studied mechanics at Cronell University but he did not want to continue with his studies. He felt that he belonged to wires, wheels , and junkyards. He always want to invent very simple and practical things that could help other people and give them better lives. It was during the period of tinkering that he got the nickname, "The junkyard inventor". Years passed, and he remained desame, working all day long, living in his own mind and dreaming of changing the world.
Most of the people called Lester a Workaholic. But there are some other kind of people who became very inerested in his little practical inventions. It just happened that Charles Lindbergh, who lived in the same neighborhood with Hendershot had heared about the junkyard workaholic inventor. One day, Charles Lindbergh, the yet unknown aviator paid Lester Hendershot a visit and asked him to develop a magnetic compass for his airplane, He agreed. But after the first test flight while he was studying the compass, he stumbled on something that looked like can generate free electricity. Suddenly, Hendershot decided to stop the compass project and focus his effort in developing the free electricity device. He became very obsessed with his discovery, that all day long he would breath, sleep, and dream about solutions of how to build a generator that could use this
free energy.

Hendershot was ready to give up on his idea. He decided to attend a show just to clear his mind after struggling so much. And all of a sudden, he had the pleasure of seing the great Nikola Tesla right before his very eyes. Henderhot dared to approach the old man, He explained to him how much inspiration he got from his inventions and also asked Tesla some advise regarding the generator that could get an electricity without any fuel. Tesla said, "I realized that the Earth is a huge electrical generator.. If humanity could develop a copper cable long enough to circumnavigate the earth, from south pole to north pole, we could use the power generated naturally by the earth's magnetic discipline". Tesla's words shaken Hendershot's world, It was the moment that solved his problem. It was the discovery that would revolutionize the world. And based from his principle, Hendershot created the generator that was placed inside Lindbergh's plane motor to help him reach the previously, unattainable.
